Our Curriculum
Learning through a Hands-On Approach
Our curriculum is inspired from the Montessori system which encourages learning through discovery and play, in fun and creative ways.
We believe integrating play in the learning process is the most effective method and helps children fully grasp different concepts and ideas.
We also have a No Screen Time Policy to keep the focus on learning through play and to enhance the child’s experience.
This is based on increasing research linking increased screen time with delays in learning, without it providing any real positive outcome in schools.
Our curriculum is taught in mostly French. However, we have both English & French Preschool sections.
*Age is only approximate and depends on vacancy in classes and on the class structure
Our Classes are Split by Age as Follows:
Infants Under 15 months
-
Gross Motor Skills
We provide space for children’s movement accompanied by a common play area with a simple and safe obstacle course. We also have walkers available to encourage walking. -
Fine Motor & Coordination Skills
This is applicable through various activities and games such as finger painting, transferring items from one container to another, etc... -
Language and Literacy Development
We focus on teaching basic communication skills through:- Repeating songs
- Building an understanding of words through interactions including exposure to various objects, their names and sound associations
- Imitating reading behaviors like turning book pages and babbling while looking at pictures
-
Music
Musical experiences in childhood can accelerate brain development and can benefit different abilities including academic, intellectual, social-emotional, motor, language and overall literacy. We enhance musical expression through:- Exploring musical instruments
- Playing songs that help build vocabulary
- Encouraging dancing and body movements
-
Social Skills
We teach kids how to function in social settings and how to be part of a group by:- Introducing them to the concept of following simple rules and controlling impulses

We have created an environment that fosters learning through the interest of the individual child. Our role is to provide a sensory-rich environment full of opportunities for experimentation and discovery within safe and secure surroundings. We do not direct children at this age and they are not expected to listen or follow instructions.
